DRP leader attends 4th Assembly of World Democratic Movement in Istanbul

MP Asim Mollazade, the chairman of the Democratic Reforms Party, has participated in the 4th Assembly of the World Democratic Movement held in Istanbul on 2-5 April. Attending the Assembly were heads of democratic movements, political parties, non-governmental organizations, MPs from different countries, Trend reports.

Turkish Prime Minister Rejep Tayyub Erdogan was also in attendance at the opening ceremony of the 4th Assembly. He appealed the participants in the gathering and spoke about the democratic developments ongoing in Turkey.

There was also held a meeting of the World Democratic Parliaments existing at the Assembly. Representatives of the parliaments of some countries agreed upon joint cooperation

, strengthening of the activities of the organization to make it a mass organization. It is also planned to establish a relevant network at the organization and coordinate activities in the parliaments of the countries and international organizations.

The 4th assembly ended with awarding for definite activities. One of the awards was conferred to a member of the Mejlis of Crimea Tatars, the National Movement of Crimea Tatars and the Ukrainian parliament, Mustafa Jamilov.

Mollazade met with Musatafa Jamil and congratulated him. Mollazade noted merits of Jamilov and Milli Majlis of Crimea Tatars in the repatriation of Tatars to their native lands and development of Ukraine.
