The communist party of Azerbaijan (KPA) organized actions in the several regions of the country to celebrate the first of May- the workers day, KPA first vice chairman, Rauf Gurbanov told Trend.

A parade organized by the party with the participation of 150 communists was held in Ganja. Our parade was successful; city residents were sympathetic to us. A round table was organized afterwards in the Ganja head quarters of KPA, Gurbanov said, noting that the action was held with a permission of the Ganja city executives.

The workers day was celebrated in Sumgayit and several districts of Baku city, he said. Actions` participants held red ribbons and cited mottoes. When I was MP, I have raised this issue in parliament. If there are workers in Azerbaijan, it means that the holiday should be made official, he said.

Communists from Russia and other countries send their congratulations, Gurbanov added.
