On 25 May a new car for search and termination of mines and ordinances will be supplied to Baku, Nazim Ismayilov, the Director of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), told journalists.
So far, two similar cars have functioned in Azerbaijan and it did not allow to expand the scope of activities, Ismayilov regretted.
He noted that late this June a special car MV-4 will be supplied from Croatia to Baku. As a result, in 2006 the number of special cars will reach 6.
Concerning the mine-detecting dogs, Ismayilov said that in July the delegation will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, where a special training center is placed. They will select 6 dogs, and will return to Baku in August, he added. As of early May 30 mine-detecting dogs have been under the disposal of the Agency.
In the conclusion the Director of the Agency also touched upon the officers of the ANAMA. The Agency has 147 field engineers with 31 people current undergoing training in Khanlar base of ANAMA. Over 45 days the training will be complete and they will be included in the staff of the organization, Ismayilov underlined.
