The cost of the reconstruction project of the airport in Lankaran amounts to some $40m, told the head of the State Concern AZAL Jahangir Askarov. According to Askerov, the key part of the finance is expected to be spent on the construction of landing strips of this object.
Besides, in the near future, it is expected to carry out the reconstruction of the airport in Zagatala. The cost of that project is estimated at $20m. In both airports, there will be changed the landing strips, reconstructed the airport building and modernized the system of the management of air movements.
Thus, after completion of the reconstruction of these airports, the contemporary airports possessing international status will exit in all regions of Azerbaijan. At the moment, AZAL completes the reconstruction of the air port in Ganja. The construction of the air ports in Baku and Nakchivan has already been completed and they possess international status.
