We are for cessation of PACE monitoring in Azerbaijan MP Seyidov

We are for cessation of monitoring held by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Azerbaijan, MP Samad Seyidov, the head of the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to the PACE, told Trend.

The conduct of monitoring of the kind does not represent any threat for Azerbaijan. However, we would like it not to be held in Azerbaijan, Seyidov stressed.

An Azerbaijani parliamentary delegate to the PACE, Aydin Mirzazade, noted that cessation of monitoring does not depend on Azerbaijan. Monitoring can last over tens of years. For instance, it had been held in Turkey, a member of the CE, since 1961 and was ceased in 2005. I dont see any problem with continuing monitoring in Azerbaijan and there is no disagreement in this respect, he underlined.

Other members of Azerbaijani delegation at the PACE, Rafael Huseynov and Gultakin Hajiyeva noted that in the current situation there as no need for conduct of monitoring in Azerbaijan.
