The National Council for TV and radio broadcasting shall make a decision on Khachmaz television tender in the first decade of June, Trend reports quoting Nushiravan Maherramli, chairman of the Council.
The tender for opening new TV channel was opened to replace Khachmaz TV, Maherramli said, and the Council session shall discuss the tender results and issue the channel a license.
The Council chairman the license of other TV channels will be examined at next sessions. These TV channels include ANS, Lider, Lankaran TV, Aygun TV, Europa+ radio station. Maherramli said the channels licensing will be decided by fall.
В"Since it would not be fair to license some TV channels at 110 manat and other at higher price. We want this question to be decided in accordance with good global practice. For example, in neighbor Georgia Rustavi TV channel shall pay USD 35k license fee to distribute. And we dont have any fee, or have a symbolic one. Therefore I suggest all TV channels broadcasting in the country pay license fee in amount of USD 30-35k. But this amount shall be defined by the governmentВ", Maherramli said.
