OSCE sent an expert to participate in actions within the highly toxic rocket fuel destruction in Azerbaijan project (Melange). Trend reports with reference to OSCE Baku office, although NATO is the projects primary performer, OSCE also supports it.
The project started in October 2005 when international experts arrived in Azerbaijan in order to study the treatment and recycling of toxic wastes stored in two storage areas.
Experts already defined the scope of technical and physical resources required for soil cleaning from rocket fuel.
В"MelangeВ" is an extremely unstable and toxic fuel component, very hazardous for the environment, OSCE officials said, adding that the list of chemicals stored in above area is ready.
