At the end of July, the talks will be held between commissions of Southern Cyprus and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for the preparation of the meeting of presidents of the two countries, Mustafa Evran, the representative of TRNC in Azerbaijan, told Trend.
He noted that ten days ago, the deputy secretary-general of UNO on political issues Ibrahim Gambari paid a visit to Cyprus, Turkey and Greece and held several meetings. During the meetings in Cyprus, he could become a mediator between the president of TRNC Mehmed Ali Talatom and the head of Southern Cyprus Tassoss Papandopolus. The sides agreed to hold negotiations for the settlement of Cyprus problem, Evran told.
Besides, he noted that a decision was made for starting the talks at the end of July at the level of commissions. The talks aim to get ready for the meeting of presidents.
According to Evran, Southern Cyprus tries to prevent the integration of TRNC into the world public. Joining International Aviation Company, Southern Cyprus broke our air relations with the world. We also have the right to establish relations with the world, he added.
Evran added that several international organizations such as European Union and the world countries promised them. They promised that if we agree with the plan of the head of UNO K.Annan, they will assist us in integration. However, they didnt keep their word. Only Azerbaijan took courageous step in this direction. We express our gratitude to official Baku, Evran emphasized.
