Today, on September 15, a round table discussion devoted to 88 th anniversary of liberation of Baku by the Azerbaijani-Turkish army from Armenian occupants on September 15, 1918 has been held. Several MPs, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Turkish Labour and Social Protection Minister Murad Basheskiogli, employees of the Representative Office of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus took part at the arrangement
Delivering a speech during the round table, Chairman of the Ataturk Culture Centre, Chairman of the Permanent Culture Commission of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan`s Parliament, and Head of the Azerbaijani-Turkish Intergovernmental Friendship Group Nizami Jafaraov pointed out that Turkey`s support to Azerbaijan in liberating Baku from Armenia occupants raised the moral spirit of our soldiers.
Then Turkish Ambassador Turan Moranli delivered his speech. He marked the importance of the independence Azerbaijan gained in 1918. That event helped Azerbaijan to gain independence in 1991. As a result Azerbaijan has gained its culture, economy, pointed out the Ambassador. Turkish Labour and Social Protection Minister Murad Basheskiogli, professor Musa Gasimli, as well as other orators participating at the arrangement spoke about terrible results of the massacre held by Armenian occupants in Azerbaijan in 1918 , and about the friendly held Turkey rendered to Azerbaijan at this difficult moment.
