Initiated by Azerbaijan Democratic Reforms Party (DRP), on September 21 a round table was held in Eliza Hall of Baku Entertainment Center dedicated to the conceptual directions of the education reformation in Azerbaijan. The event brought together the Education Minister of Azerbaijan, members of the Azerbaijani Parliament, chairmen of parties and heads of several institutes, Trend reports.
Opening the round table, the Chairman of DRP Asim Mollazade noted that the event will mainly focus on the impacts of the conceptual issues and Bologna system on the education system in Azerbaijan.
The first speech was made by the Pro-rector of Azerbaijan University, Professor Khalladin Ibrahimli speaking about Bologna system.
He stressed that this system was adopted in 1999 in Bologna (Italy). The Professor stressed that a Council of Public Education should be created Azerbaijan to prevent the problems in joining the Bologna system. Is addition, he spoke about the requirements of Bologna system. The legislative base should be upgraded, secondary schools should transfer to 12-year system and the post-graduate study should be adopted as 3-year stage of education, Ibrahimli underlined.
The Professor underlined that it needs to transfer to the academic mobility and system of school crediting. Transition to this system may positively affect the prospects of co-operation between our higher education institutions, he underlined, mentioning of preparing joint education programs.
