Baku City Executive Power didn't permit Musavat Party to hold rally-march scheduled for 23 September 2006, Trend reports with reference to the Baku Executive Power.

Musavat Party had planned to hold rally-march on September 23 from 16:00 to 19:00 from metro station 20 January to the square in front of the building the State Film Fund (former Galaba cinema). On September 21, a response was given to the appeal forwarded to Baku City Executive Power. It is stated in the response that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has issued an order directed towards the economic development of the country, increase of salaries, reduction of poverty and opening of new workplaces. In addition, the state head carries our works in international arena and within the country to release occupied Azerbaijani territories. Moreover, measures are taken on the governmental level against the corruption. If there are any illegal cases that may be reasons for your protest, it is recommended to appeal to these bodies, said in the response letter of Baku City Executive Power, emphasizing that conducting rally-march is inexpediency.

Musavat Party intends to hold rally-march in Baku with slogan of protest against corruption, poverty and unemployment in the country, non-settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, violation of human rights and main freedoms, as well as with a requirement to resolve these problems.
