It is impossible to implement the project Nabucco without Azerbaijan`s participation in it , Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev told during the joint press-conference devoted to the official visit of Romanian President Traian Basesku to Azerbaijan, Trend report.
According to the Azerbaijani President, Azerbaijan is interested in diversifying its oil and gas exports. Today, the country has three pipelines. The first pipeline is carrying the Azerbaijani oil to the Mediterranean Sea Port of Ceyhan, the other two to the Balck Sea Ports of Supsa and Novorossiysk. Azerbaijan is expected to launch gas production on the gas condensate field Shakhdaniz in the nearest time, but the country`s needs in this fuel is increasing. According to the Head of the Azerbaijani Stat, the implementation of construction of the South Caucasian Gas Pipeline allows supplying this blue fuel to Europe from a technical point of view.
Nabucco is of a great interest to Azerbaijan which can take part in this project. Nabucco is aimed at gas produced in the Caspian region, and we are interested in studying European needs, told the President.
