A meeting devoted to the results of the past 9 months of the year has been held at the Central Police Department of Baku City today (on October 19). The meeting was headed by Chief of the City's Central Police Department, a source in the Police Administration told Trend.
Mr. Aliyev told that over the past 9 months, 2006, on the whole, a stable situation, excepting some incidents has been kept on the territory of the capital. Most crimes have been revealed. Persons who committed these crimes were arrested and passed to the corresponding investigation bodies.
Shahin Akhundov, having committed a crime in the beginning of the year by using a gun, escaped to Turkey where he was up to preceding days. However, he has been arrested by Interpol these days. At present, the Azerbaijani corresponding bodies are negotiating with their Turkish colleagues on his extradition to the motherland.
Mr. Aliyev also touched upon the existing shortcomings in the work of the law enforcement bodies of the country, and in this connection expressed his dissatisfaction with the work of some officers of the Central Police Department of the capital.
