U.S. Embassy in Baku and the Council of Europe (CE) through the co-operation with the Azerbaijani Government is holding a seminar Development of a Body on Fighting Laundry of Money, Financing of Terror and Different Financial Crimes' on 30 and 31 October, Trend reports.
Experts from Azerbaijan, European countries and United States will discuss issues concerning the development and adoption of the law to fight against the legalization of criminal income and the financing of terrorism, as well as the establishment of an intelligence agency in line with international standards.
Over many months the U.S. Justice Ministry and the CE has provided the Azerbaijan Government with technical assistance to establish the necessary legal framework to investigate the source of financing terrorism and crime and the punishment of such crimes, the CE document read.
Along with the Azerbaijani Government officials, other speakers at the workshop will be Anne Derse, the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan and Denis Bribosia, a special representative of the CE Secretary in Azerbaijan.
