The joint meeting of the four commissions for International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations, for Science and Education, for Regional Affairs and for Policy and Law of Milli Majlis [Azerbaijani Parliament] focused on the bill On 2007 state budget. The meeting brought together the representatives of the four commissions, Finance Ministry, Ministry of Education, the National Academy of Sciences, State Commission for Student Admission and other state sectors, Trend reports.
During the meeting, reports were delivered regarding allocations from the state budget for scientific organizations, bodies of the Academy of Sciences, diplomatic representations abroad, municipalities, agriculture and other state departments.
The Head of the Science and Education Department of the Finance Ministry of Azerbaijan, Khagani Rzayev, stressed that AZN 17 mln has been allocated from the 2007 state budget for the physical and mathematical, biological, chemical, humanitarian and social departments of the Academy of Sciences. He stressed that AZN 776 mln have been disbursed to Education in 2007.
