Discussions in Milli Majlis [Azerbaijani Parliament] on making annexes and changes to the law On political parties may take place in the spring session of the Parliament in the next year, the Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), MP Mubariz Gurbanli informed Trend.
He stressed that presently there are no any project on changes to this law, and these ideas have been presented as a proposal, Mr. Gurbanli said, adding that the deputies from NAP have their own opinion of the law On political parties and they intend to actively participate in these discussions.
Mr. Gurbanli emphasized that the agenda of the current fall session and the working program of the parliament have been confirmed already. The working program does not include discussion of the law On political parties. Therefore, if such project is prepared and presented to the next spring session of the Parliament, it will be considered. We also support making changes to this law. Because this law had been adopted till the Constitution. After the adoption of the Azerbaijani Constitution, the law was not changed. The New Azerbaijan Party has prepared a number of proposals regarding this law and when the discussions begin, we will put forward our proposals, Mr. Gurbanli said.
