Independence support, sovereignty and territorial integrity by Azerbaijan will contribute to the peace and stability in Europe. Tahir Taghizadeh, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Foreign Office's Press & Information Policy Department, informed Trendthat this had been reported in a joint statement made by Azerbaijan and EU, which appeared following the approval of the EU Neighborhood Policy Actions Plan to be included to the Co-operation Council's Protocol.
Taghizadeh pointed out that this document would include a number of issues that are of great importance to Azerbaijan, including those linked with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The agreement states that the Co-operation Council once more confirms that Azerbaijan's support of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity will ensure its contribution for peace and stability in the whole of Europe. The Co-operation Council is in favor of a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of internationally recognized norms, the international law, and corresponding resolutions of the UN Security Council, documents and decisions made by OSCE, stated Taghizadeh.
