Asim Mollazadeh, Chairman of the Democratic reforms Party of Azerbaijan is expected to leave for Pakistan as a member of a delegation of the Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis) which is to pay an official visit to this country.
During the forthcoming visit, the Azerbaijani delegation is expected to meet with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Pakistan Chaudri Amir Hussein (together with the Pakistani-Azerbaijani Friendship Group), Khusrsud Kasuri, Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Dr. Atta Ur Rahman, Pakistani Federal Minister, Chief of the Higher Education Commission, Amman Ulah Khan Chadoun, Pakistan's Oil and Natural Resources Minister, Co-Chairman of the Pakistani-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Joint Commission, Mohammadin Sumro, Chairman of the Senate, Sumeira Malik, Women's Development and Youth Minister.
The members of the Azerbaijani delegation are expected to meet with the External Affairs Committee of the Pakistan Senate as well. The Azerbaijani MPs will take part in a round table discussion on the topic Azerbaijan and Regional Energy Scenarios to be held at the Haydi Azim Pakistani University. A joint conference, with the participation of the Azerbaijani delegation and Mushaheed Hussein Seyyid, Chief of the External Affairs Committee of the Pakistan Senate is also expected to take place. Furthermore, our delegation is expected to be accepted by Pervez Mousharraf, the Pakistani President.
The Pakistani President had paid an official visit to Baku, and his Azerbaijani counterpart visited Pakistan. During the visits, co-operation development between the two countries was discussed in many areas. Pakistan has denied establishing diplomatic relations with Armenia. Official Islamabad is supporting Azerbaijan's position within all international organizations. The visit of the Azerbaijani MPs delegation will serve to develop the friendship which is being shaped between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as well as strengthening interparliamentary ties.
