Colds weather should not be the reasons for the population of the regions to cut down and use the forests for heating purposes, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Huseyn Bagirov, briefed the media, Trend reports.
He said that presently hundreds of facts of cutting down the forests have been forwarded to the court. It is a big problem and it worries us a lot. Only within the recent month, 30 facts of illegal cut down have been discovered, the Minister said.
Bagirov called for the population to use kerosene ovens to heat homes in the winter period. There is no need to use wood because the kerosene ovens are more economical, the Minister said, adding that 2-3 cans of kerosene substitute one car of wood.
