We Expect Commodity Circulation between Russia and Azerbaijan by 50 Percent: Azerbaijani PM

The Year of Russia, which is nearing its end in Azerbaijan has allowed us to envisage Russia in all spheres. This year has allowed us to bring out our feelings of brotherhood and respect for each other, Mikhail Fradkov, Russian Prime Minister stated during today's closing ceremony of the Russian year in Azerbaijan, Trend reports. The objectives of the year were to establish direct human co-operation, as well as attain mutual understanding. All the aims have been achieved. The Russian Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of the Country, Arthur Rasizadeh and other Azerbaijani officials for holding this year in Azerbaijan.

Arthur Rasizadeh, Azerbaijani Premier Minister stated during his speech that relations between the two countries have become more dynamic and fruitful from year to year. These relations are built upon the strategic partnership. According to Mr. Rasizadeh, Russia remains as Azerbaijan's key trade partner.

The commodity intercourse has significantly increased between the two countries. If last year's one was $1 bln, that was 29% more compared to 2004, this year's indicator is expected to increase by 50% compared to 2005. For the last 10 years, trade relations between the countries have increased five-fold, pointed out the Prime Minister.
