Russian President Vladimir Putin received an invitation from official Baku to visit Azerbaijan in the next year, said Vasily Istratov, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
According to the Russian Ambassador, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is likely to visit Russia two times due to different arrangements to be held in the country in the next year. Mr. Aliyev is expected to participate in the non-official summit of CIS countries to be held in Russia, in the summer of 2007.
A number of other visits of top Azerbaijani officials to Russia are expected to be paid the next year as well, particularly, the visit of Azerbaijani Prime-Minister Arthur Rasizadeh. The growth of bilateral relations between the two countries will create favourable conditions for new visits, said the Russian diplomat.
