The first Vice Speaker of the Azerbaijan Parliament, Ziyafet Askerov, said that Azerbaijan is a country of South Caucasus which has high-level relations with NATO and its Parliamentary Assembly, Trend reports.
Askerov said that Azerbaijan is gradually fulfilling its obligations and there are big prospects for the co-operation with NATO. He said that Azerbaijan intends to bring its Army into conformity with NATO standards. Touching on the issue of attracting civil people in the work of various bodies of Army, Askerov said that in the future, several positions in the system of the Defense Ministry will be held by civil people, and work is carried out in this respect.
