Prospects of Azerbaijani-Greco Inter-Parliamentary Relations Development to be Discussed in Baku

Next week, negotiations will take place in Baku with respect to the future development of inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Greece. The First Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy of Greece, Akrem Zeynalli, exclusively informed Trend that the discussions will be held during the forthcoming visit of the deputies of the Parliament of Greece to Azerbaijan on 23 January.

The delegation will be headed by the Co-chairman of the Greco-Azerbaijani Inter-Parliamentary Friendly Group, Maximus Kharakoplos. The delegation also includes three deputies of the Parliament of Greece, one of which is Ilham Ahmad, the only Turkish deputy in the Parliament of Greece, the diplomat said.

During the visit, the delegation plans to hold a number of meetings at the Parliament of Azerbaijan, with senior officials of the Government Azerbaijan, Zeynalli stated. According to him, the Greco-Azerbaijani Inter-Parliamentary Friendly Group was created in May 2004. From the Azerbaijani side, the Co-chairman of the Group is the Head of Parliament Permanent Commission on Social Policy, Haji Rajabov.
