Prospects of Commercial-Economical Relations between Azerbaijan and Greece to be Discussed in Athens

The Third Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Greece, Vusal Abdullayev, exclusively informed Trend that the second meeting of the Azerbaijani-Greco Intergovernmental Economic Co-operation Commission will take place in Athens/

According to him, the Embassy has already started to prepare for the upcoming meeting. The agenda of the meeting includes expanding the commercial-economical, cultural and humanitarian relations between the two countries. From the Greek side, the co-chairman of the Commission is the Deputy Foreign Minister Evripidis, and from the Azerbaijani side, Minister of Economic Development, Heydar Babayev.

The diplomat stressed that presently the legal-normative base between the two countries equals 5 intergovernmental agreements, and proposals for two more agreements, on avoidance of double taxation and on co-operation in air links.

According to the diplomat, the previous meeting of the Commission had taken place on 10-11 April 2003 in Baku.
