President of Azerbaijan Participates in Opening Ceremony of Memorial Plaque named after Heydar Aliyev

On February 7th, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, who is on a visit to Georgia, participated in an opening ceremony of a memorial plaque on the bank of the Kur, commemorating the former President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, a Trend Special Correspondent reports.

Up to then, Ilham Aliyev had met with the President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili. According to the visit program, during the day Aliyev and Saakashvili will visit a reconstructed republic hospital and later, renovated station of Tbilisi Metro; Square of Freedom.

The first half of the day will be completed with lunch in Meydan Restaurant.

After the meal, the Prime Minister of Turkey, Rejep Teyyub Erdogan, will arrive in Tbilisi. The Turkish Prime Minister will be welcomed at the airport by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Zurab Nogaideli, after which the President of Georgia will hold one-to-one meeting with the Prime Minister of Turkey and later a meeting for the leaders of the three countries, Mikhail Saakashvili, Ilham Aliyev and Rejep Teyyub Erdogan, will take place in the Presidential Outhouse of the Parliament.

The program includes a ceremony of the signing of joint documents and the inauguration of the new Tbilisi International Airport. Afterwards the Georgian President and eminent guests will participate in a friendly football match between the national teams of Georgia and Turkey at the Boris Paichadze National Stadium. After the football match the Azerbaijani President and Turkish Prime Minister will return to their countries.
