Georgia, Tblisi / Trend, corr N. Kirtskhalia / An Azerbaijani citizen was detained by Georgian frontier guards, Trend correspondent in Tbilisi reports. He was attempting to leave the country for Turkey together with a Russian citizen.
The Frontier Police informed that they were detained during passport control at the Sarpi check-point of Georgian-Turkish frontier.
Both citizens did not have a registration document on entry the country provided by the Georgian custom-house and the frontier service. They entered Georgia through Rocky Pass and Southern Ossetia'a territory that is out of control of the central authorities.
Their entry into the country was declared illegal. The detained are threatened with imprisonment.
