Chairman of Democratic Party Appealed to Plenum of Superior Court and Judicial Council

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. S. Ilhamgizi/ Sardar Jalaloghlu, the Chairman of the Organization Committee for the preparation for the 9th congress of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, has appealed to the Judicial Council and Plenum of the Superior Court of Azerbaijan with a demand to bring to responsibility those officers and employees of the investigation and judiciary bodies, whom he considers were the blame for the fact that they had not investigated the fact of his arrest and tortures he suffered in 2003, a source in the Party told Trend.

The appeal submitted to the Judicial Council contains the demand to begin a disciplinary proceedings toward a Judge of Nasimi District Court, Gulnara Taghizadeh, Mahammadali Zulfugarov, Judges of the Azerbaijan Court of Appeal, R. Iskandarov, A. Guliyev, A. Husseynov, E. Abdullayev, H. Hassanov, M. Zeynalov, R. Mirzoyev, R. Safarov, A. Hassanov, Judges of the Azerbaijan Court for Serious Crimes, Mansur Ibayev, Shakir Alasgarov, and Javad Djumaliyev. In addition, there is a claim to put forward to the Justice Ministry of the Country to withdraw the authorities from the above-mentioned judges.

The appeal submitted to the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Country contains the demand to cancel the decision made by Nasimi Court of Baku City on February 18, 2004, that one made by the Court of Appeal made on March 17, 2004, decision made by the Chief of the Inquiry Department for Serious Crimes, Senior Adviser of Justice, T. L. Kazimov on January 8, 2004, that one made by Nasimi District Court on July 29, 2004, as well as that one made by the Court of Appeal on September 24, 2004. Moreover, there is a demand to send all materials of the criminal case to the court of first instance for reconsideration.
