Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aghayeva / The Moldavian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ion Robu, reported on 12 April that the Azerbaijani regions are of great interest to the Moldavian government. Mr. Robu said that cooperation between the countries along with direct contact between the regions should be developed.
According to the Ambassador, the prospects of cooperation were discussed within the framework of his visit to the Astara Region of Azerbaijan, where he met with the head of the executive power of the Region and visited several industrial and agricultural units. Mr. Robu discussed the potential for cooperation with the administration of the Region, and visited a tea factory, tinned food factory, and two farms. Cooperation between the two countries will include exporting and importing different agricultural products.
" Moldova can offer a great variety of products to the Azerbaijani regions, including wine, light industrials products, and agriculture facilities," Robu said. Mutual visits by the representatives from the two countries' different regions were discussed as well. The cooperation can be consolidated by signing agreements between the regions of the countries.
