Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Ilhamgizi/ Isa Gambar, the Chairman of Opposition Party "Musavat" has said today that the Party has responded positively to the request put by the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan led by Rasul Guliyev, who still lives in exile abroad. Musavat Party has offered the use of its headquarters to the Democratic Party so that the latter may hold its next congress there.

According to Mr. Akif Shahbazov, the Vice-Chairman of the Organization Committee for the Preparation for the Ninth Congress of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, the Party he represents, is currently facing difficulties in finding an appropriate place to hold its next regular congress.

Therefore, Mr. Shahbazov requested "Musavat" to offer its conference-hall so that the former may hold its congress. The Chairman of "Musavat" has expressed his consent to the Democratic party's request.

"We are not interfering in the Democratic Party's process, and do not give any preference to any party over another. If loyalists to Mr. Sardar Jalaloghlu put a request to us to allow them use of our premises to hold their own conference, then we shall certainly comply with their request too. The doors of the headquarters of "Musavat" are opened for them," said Mr. Gambar.

Notably, after making the decision to change its political course, the opposition Democratic Party of Azerbaijan has divided its supporters, those who follow Mr. Sardar Jalaloghlu and those who are loyal to Mr. Rasul Guliyev.
