Caspian Status Being Discussed in Ashgabat

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Aghayeva/ Khazar Ibrahim, the Press-Secretary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Office, has said that consultations on the Draft-Convention for Determination of the Status of the Caspian Sea is being held at the next regular meeting of the Working Group for Determining the Status of the Caspian in the Turkmenistan Capital of Ashgabat today, on April 23.

All the Caspian states are represented in the mentioned meeting. The Azerbaijani party is represented by Khalaf Khalafov, the Deputy of the Foreign Minister of the Country, Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President for Caspian Status Issues in the mentioned negotiations.

"During the two-day meeting, the parties will view and discuss items of the mentioned Draft-Convention, which have not been agreed to date," said Mr. Ibrahim.

In addition, the Azerbaijani and Turkmen parties are expected to hold bilateral talks during the existing event.
