Azerbaijani President Sends Congratulatory Letters to Pope of Rome and Israeli President

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Ilhamgizi/ Today, on April 23, the Azerbaijan's President, Ilham Aliyev, has sent letters of congratulations to the Pope of Rome, His Highness Benedict XVI on the occasion of the anniversary of his Enthronement Day.

President Aliyev expressed a hope that relations between Azerbaijan and the Vatican would persistently develop and strengthen to meet the interests of both countries. The Head of the Azerbaijan State also extended his wishes of peace and welfare to the Pope of Rome and his congregation.

At the same time, the Azerbaijani President has sent a message of congratulations to the President of Israel, Moshe Katsav and the Israeli people, on the occasion of their country's Independence Day.

President Aliyev expressed a confidence for further development of friendly relations and co-operation between the two states. The Azerbaijani President extended his best wishes, peace and tranquility to the President and the people of Israel.
