Trend I.Alizade / Commenting on the statement of the Chairman of opposition Great Establishment Party, Fazil Gazanfaroglu, the Speaker of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), Oktay Asadov, said on 5 June at the Parliament's meeting that the salaries for parliamentarians will be increased from 1 July.
Fazil Gazanfaroglu had stated that the salaries of the employees of the Parliamentary Administration and department chiefs are higher than the salaries for parliamentarians. "Previously, when the issue regarding the salaries for parliamentarians was presented for the agenda, the meeting was cancelled due to repair work taking place and the discussions were postponed," Gazanfaroglu added.
The salaries for the parliamentarians were increased by 25%.
