The United States, Washington / Trend corr.A.Gara / Yashar Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United States and observer at the Organization of American Countries, stated to the 37th regular session of the General Assembly of the Organization in Panama, that Azerbaijan was prepared to co-operate with the member-countries on the Organization in the energy field for exchange of experience.
The main topic of the session was 'Energy for Permanent Development'.
Aliyev spoke about the history of the Azerbaijani oil industry, development of the oil sector in the country and the role of Azerbaijan in providing energy security.
Thirty-five countries hold a permanent member status at the organization and sixty countries are permanent observers.
