Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / The curriculum and subject-matters of specialized courses on election law have been developed for members of the Lower Election Committee.
The Central Election Committee (CEC) began activities in connection to this right after the decree of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who approved the 'Plan of National Activities on Protection of Human Rights in Azerbaijan'. In order to provide elections held in compliance with democratic requirements in more transparent conditions the CEC prefers activities intended to improve the professionalism of the members of the lower commission. A working group including five members has been established for development of the program of activities corresponding to the decree. The deputy chairman of the CEC has been included in the working group established for coordination of implementation of the Plan on National Activities.
A curriculum and subject-matters of the courses on election law have been developed by the working group. There are plans to start the courses in the autumn.
The documents interesting to citizens are placed on the internet-site of the CEC. Workshops and trainings are held regularly for the improvement of the professionalism of the members of district commissions functioning at election organizations.
