Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The salaries of the Internal Affairs bodies will be increased on the 2nd of July - the Day of Police.
Oruj Zalov, the deputy Internal Minister of Azerbaijan, stated in an interview to journalists that the President of Azerbaijan ratified the State program on social security and increase of material and technical basis of policemen from 2005- 2008.
"Annually, in compliance with the program, the salaries of the Internal Affairs bodies increases and expands the material and technical basis of policemen. The increase of salaries of policemen is planned in 2007," Zalov noted.
Zalov has also expressed his attitude towards the bids on injecting changes in the legislation due to toughening of rules and increases of fines against infringers of traffic laws.
"The process of economic development of Azerbaijan improves quickly. The salaries of the population do not correspond to fines. The sum of traffic fines is not considered important for drivers, which encourage them to violate the traffic laws repeatedly. We support the increase in fines against drivers," Zalov stressed.
