Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizadeh / Hasan Karimov, the deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party, has stated that the party is to hold a convention.
Karimov noted that at present conferences are being held in Azerbaijani regions and in city organizations, as well as representatives being elected.
"The conferences will be concluded in the near future. After the conferences the Supreme Assembly of the party will meet where an exact date for the convention will be determined. We plan to hold the convention before the autumn," Karimov added.
The Azerbaijani Popular Front Party is a member and co-founder of the political 'Azadlyg' bloc. Abulfaz Elchibayov, a former Azerbaijani President, was the founder and chairman of the party in 2000. Since 2000 former MP Ali Karimli has been the chairman of the party.
Presently, the party has problems with its head-quarters. The party is permanently based at the Azerbaijani Democratic Party's head-quarters.
