Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Musa Agayev, the chairman of the new established Azerbaijani opposition New Time Party, stated on 17 July that the party will take part in the forthcoming 2008 Presidential elections.

According to Agayev, the party does not form around one leader and single ideology.

"The party is planning to take part in the elections, which will be held in 2008. We will try to differentiate our election program from others. I believe that chairmen of parties should not name themselves as leaders. A leader should possess some kind of superiority," Agayev said.

The New Time party will be financed by member payments and financial aid. Twenty-five regional organizations of the party have already been established. Constituent Assembly of the party was held on 16 July.
