US Diplomat Holds Consultations in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend E.Huseynov / Jonathan Henick, the Head of the Public Relations Department for the US Embassy to Azerbaijan, announced on 2 August that Matthew Bryza, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, and also OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair, is holding consultations in Baku.

The US diplomat arrived in Baku on 2 August for a two-day visit. Bryza has scheduled meetings at several ministries and administrations, including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and of Industry and Energy.

The key objective of Bryza's visit to Azerbaijan is to discuss bilateral cooperation. Henick noted that along with the ways of resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Bryza will also mull over energy and democracy issues in Baku, Earlier Henick informed Trend.

Bryza arrived in Baku from Moscow, where the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs held consultations on the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Prior to Moscow, the diplomat visited Tbilisi and Yerevan.
