Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. D.Khatinoglu / Alirza Nurizadeh, an Iranian political scientist based in London, stated that the US has sold a large volume of arms to Arabian countries to protect them from Iran as well as secure peace among these countries with Israel.

According to Nurizadeh, the Arabian countries usually express dissatisfaction, claiming that the US must not violate freedom of action of Iran in Iraq. There are a few Shiites in Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Jordan; therefore they are frightening Shiites in Iraq. Two American ministers promised to provide security to the Arabian countries during their visit to this country.

"The US secured these countries only with one term, that these countries live in peace with Israel. The US has been selling arms to Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Washington demanded that these countries take a certain position towards Iran, Nurizadeh said.

Iran used to regulate mutual political relations with a range of Arabian countries in the past years. These relations, however, were damaged after Ahmadinejad came to power.

The Editor-in-Chief of the Keyhan newspaper published in Iran, Huseyin Shariatmadari, stated in one of his articles that Bahrain belongs to Iran. This statement prompoted deep resonance in Arab countries. Although, the Iranian Foreign Minister, M. Muttaki, made personal apologizes, the Iranian-Arab relations were damaged.

The information agency of 'IRNA' functioning in Iran, reported on 1 August that the President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, was not troubled on the issue. Iran possesses strong military forces and does not see the danger of putting military forces of neighbouring countries.
