Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Aghayeva / Azerbaijani and Slovenian Governments have plans to sign an Agreement on Cooperation in ICT. The document will be signed during the visit of Azerbaijan Communication & IT Minister, Ali Abbasov, to Slovenia to take place on 26 to 30 August, Slovenian Consul to Azerbaijan, Borut Megusar, reported from Ljubljana on 25 August.
Within the framework of the visit, the main purpose of which is participation in annual Strategic Forum of 'European Union - 2020: Expansion & Integration' to be held in Bled city on 26 to 27 August, Abbasov is expected to meet with Slovenian Economics Minister, Andrei Vizak, the Consul said. The ministers will discuss economic relations and prospects for bilateral cooperation. Azerbaijani Minister will visit Iskratel, one of Slovenia's leading ICT companies, where he will meet with the company's Director General, Andrei Polenek. Azerbaijani delegation will get familiar with the company's ICT products and solutions.
Azerbaijani delegation will take part in the meeting at Ljubljana University, where cooperation opportunities between Slovenian and Azerbaijani Universities will be considered.
According to the Consul, this year the economic forum will be attended by Georgian President Mikhael Saakashvili, Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, Lithuanian Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas, Macedonian Prime Minister Nicola Gruevski, UN envoy on Kosovo's status Marti Ahtisaari, Foreign Ministers of a range of countries, other political persons, EU officials, representatives of public organizations and analytic centres. The agenda will include issues regarding European integration.
In last year's forum Azerbaijan was represented by the President.
