Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. К.Zarbaliyeva / The Department involved in the fight against corruption at the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office is investigating 11 cases. The cases involved bribery, abuse of power and misappropriation of property, the Department reported to the Trend Agency.
During 2005, 2006 and 2007, the Department submitted 72 corruption cases to court against 157 persons who held various positions. All cases were considered by the court and sentences against the accused were passed.
The Plan of Activity for 2007 and 2011 was approved by the order of the Azerbaijani President from 28 July 2007.
