Spears loses custody of children
( BBC ) - Singer Britney Spears has temporarily lost custody of her two children, after a ruling by a Los Angeles court.
Judge Scott Gordon ordered her to hand over custody of her sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline on Wednesday.
The judge ruled that Mr Federline will take custody of two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James "until further order of the court".
Ms Spears was also recently charged over an alleged hit-and-run incident, and dropped by her management firm.
Representatives for Ms Spears and Mr Federline were not immediately available for comment.
The judge's order came 10 days after the 25-year-old singer was charged with hit-and-run and driving without a valid license.
She was previously ordered to undergo random drug and alcohol tests twice a week as part of her child custody dispute with Mr Federline, as well as attend weekly meetings with a parenting coach.
