Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / The arrested former Deputy Commander of Defense Brigade of Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, Rasim Muradov, was sentenced to eight years imprisonment. On 22 October the Military Court of Heinous Crimes of Azerbaijan made an appeal to the Defense Ministry to deprive Muradov of his military rank.
Muradov is dissatisfied with the sentence of the court and plans to make an appeal to higher instances.
The colonel is accused in compliance with Article 311.3.2 (taking repeat bribes) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
The criminal case with regards to Muradov was filed in March by the Commander of the Defense Brigade, colonel Mirzali Yusifov.
