Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / According to a decision by the Court of Heinous Crimes of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Balakan district department of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party, Nazim Guliyev, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. In August 2007, Guliyev wounded an employee of the district electricity network by hitting him with a fire-arm; the employee went to his house to request payment for electricity debts.
The day before, Guliyev went to the electricity network and threatened to blow up the network with a grenade if his electricity debts were not cancelled.
