Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 January / corr Trend I.Alizade / A lawsuit into the crash of an MIG -29 during the military exercises on 29 January has been filed, the Military Prosecutor's Office said on 30 January. The article taken as basis for bringing an action is not disclosed due to military secrecy.
An MIG-29 war-plane of the Azerbaijan Air Force crashed on 29 January not far from Baku resulting in the death of both pilots. The plane fell into the sea with crash site depth noted at 15 meters. The reasons for the incident are being defined.
The 'flight recorder' is still missing. The plane was possibly purchased from Ukraine at the beginning of 2007. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry told Trend that on 30 January the crashed MIG-29 belonged to the batch of planes purchased from Ukraine, but until now, this has not been confirmed.
