Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 April / Trend corr J. Babayeva/ The 12-day hunger strike by the journalists at the editorial office of Yeni Musavat newspaper was suspended on 7 April, a military journalist Uzeyir Jafarov told Trend .
According to him, the hunger strike was suspended after the decision made by Eynulla Fatullayev.
After the visit of the OSCE Representative for Freedom of Speech Miklosh Kharashti on 7 April, Fatullayev decided to suspend the hunger strike.
The journalists were hunger-striking by turns since 27 March in order to support the imprisoned Fatulla Abdullayev, editor-in-chief of the Gundalik Azerbaijan and Realniy Azerbaijan newspapers.
On 26 March, Eynulla Fatullayev, editor-in-chief of Gundalik Azerbaijan and Realniy Azerbaijan newspapers went on a hunger strike in demand for objective consideration of his case, release of the arrested journalists and for concrete protection measures to be applied by the Council of Europe and OSCE.
