Former Chief Coach of Turkish National Team Expects Proposal from Azerbaijani Club

Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 April /corr. Trend R. Ergun/ Mustafa Denizli, the former chief coach of the Turkish national team is expecting a proposal for a job at the Azerbaijani club. "AFFA has shown interest in Denizli even before Berti Fogtsa was appointed chief coach of the Azerbaijani national team. However, later AFFA signed a contract with the German coach, Yusif Unchular, the manager of Denizli said to Trend on 21 April.

Denizli, Fatih Terim and Shenol Gunesh are the most authoritative coaches in Turkey. Danizli, who ran the Turkish national team in 1999-2000, led the team up to the 8th final of the European Championship. Denizli ran such clubs as Fenerbakhcha, Vestel Manisa Spor and Galatasaray and Pas, the Iranian club was the last team that he worked with.

According to the manager, though it is difficult for even Azerbaijani clubs to sign a contract with Denizli, it is possible. "It costs a lot of money to bring a coach out to Azerbaijan, but he has shown interest in working in Azerbaijan," he said.

Unchular is also the manager of other coaches in Turkey. He has very close ties with Azerbaijani football and plans to introduce coach Albayrak to several clubs. "I proposed Albayrak to AFFA even before Carlos Alberto Torres was appointed chief coach of the national team. Karabakh club was interested in Albayrak before it signed a contract with the current chief coach Rasim Kara, Unchular said. Albayrak led 8 teams to victory in various leagues of Turkey and he led Adanaspor from the first league to the Super League.
