Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 May / Trend corr. J.Babayeva / UNESCO has allocated funds to develop the professional education in Azerbaijan, Misir Mardanov, the Education Minister of Azerbaijan, stated in the regional conference of UNESCO dedicated to the literacy problems. Minister did not divulge the amount of funds allocated to Azerbaijan.
UNESCO, Azerbaijani government and Heydar Aliyev Foundation have signed an agreement on implementation of the project to develop the professional education in Azerbaijan.
"The funds, allocated to implement the project, have been transferred to UNESCO Moscow-based office," Minister stated.
UNESCO has developed new plans to develop the education sector in Azerbaijan.
In July 2007, President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree to approve the State program to develop professional technical education in Azerbaijan for 2007-2012.
