$32mln Project Implemented to Develop Professional Technical Education in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 May / Trend corr. J.Babayeva / The High Technical Education Centre will be build to develop professional technical education in Azerbaijan. The cost of the project is $32mln. The Korean 'Economic Development and Cooperation Fund' has allocated $22mln and Azerbaijan - $10mln for construction of the Centre.

Centre will be constructed on the basis of the current professional lycee 4 in Baku. Centre will teach staff in several spheres of economy, electronic and upgrade technologies.

The Memorandum regarding the construction of the centre was signed between the Azerbaijani education Ministry and South Korean company DAEWOO in August 2007.

Centre will be constructed and put into operation within two years.

Korean different companies will provide the Centre with 5,401 different equipments. The monthly courses will be held for 49 tutors and 20 members of Centre in Korea.

Misir Mardanov, Azerbaijani Minister of Education, stated that the Azerbaijani government has implemented six other projects apart of the construction of the Centre to develop professional technical education in Azerbaijan.
