28% of Azerbaijanis Prepared to Emigrate: Gallup Opinion  Poll

Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 June / corr. Trend E. Huseynov/ According the opinion poll conducted by the Gallup organization, 28% of Azerbaijanis who are not pleased with their life standards, are ready to emigrate.

The Gallup poll conducted in 82 countries all over the world, showed that 26% of population of these countries are ready to emigrate, that is a quarter of the population on the Earth are displeased with their governments, Washington ProFile reported.

The share of the potential emigrants is seriously hesitating over the country to emigrate the majority of them accounting for Africa. More people in Sierra Leone, that is, 65% of the respondents are ready to emigrate. More than half of the population of Hawaii (60%), Congo (59%), Ghana, Liberia and Nigeria (508% each), Zimbabwe (57%), Dominican Republic (56%), Senegal (55%), Uganda, Malawi and Salvador (51% each) may resolve to emigrate at any moment.

On the contrary, only 1% of the Saudi Arabia population is willing to leave their country. Less potential emigrants account for Australia, South African Republic and Thailand (8% each), Indonesia, India and Laos (9% each). It is interesting that some of these countries are considered poor countries (for instance, Laos).

The situation in the post soviet countries is as follows: 34% of the population is willing to leave Moldova, 26%- Georgia, 25%  - Ukraine, 23% - Armenia, 22% - Lithuania, 20% - Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Estonia each, 19% - Latvia, 17% - Russia, 13% - Kazakhstan and 12% - Tajikistan.

For the sake of comparison, 30% of the potential emigrants live in Iran, 27% - Great Britain and Germany each, 20% - Israel, 18% - France and 12% in Japan.

The youth usually account for the larger proportion of the emigrants who strive for improving their lives abroad. The Gallup poll confirmed it once again and added that those with relatives abroad also are ready to emigrate.
